CNC MAINTENANCE MECHANIC - 2nd or 3rd SHIFT

 POSITION SUMMARY:

Install, maintain, and/or repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment according to diagrams, sketches, operational manuals, etc., utilizing hand tools, power tools and manual equipment such as drills, welding equipment, etc.

  • Visually inspects and test machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment. Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine with voltages up to 480 volts ac.

  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.

  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections; inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, indicators and other measuring instruments. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools and levels.

  • Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.

  • Start devices to test their performance.

  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.

  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearing, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, and grease gun.
     

SKILL AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Two year technical degree with 1-2 years’ experience and must be able to pass a qualifying test. Requires an individual with team-oriented skills. Without a technical degree the individual must have 2-4 years’ of related maintenance experience.

ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN

 POSITION SUMMARY:

The Electronics Technician will contribute to a team responsible for maintaining an electronics lab and supporting testing activities. This position will provide general electronics support for tractor engines.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, fabricate, modify and perform maintenance on various test fixtures in support of engine control hardware and software feature development testing.

  • Develop drawings and control documentation for all laboratory test fixtures, jigs, and harnesses.

  • Design and review test fixture schematics for accuracy and update as required.

  • Assist engineers with bench testing of electronic hardware and application software features.

  • Train engineers in use of all laboratory test equipment and fixtures.

  • Ensure the laboratory is maintained in a neat and orderly appearance.

  • Maintain inventory of lab necessities such as connectors, terminals, wire, tubing, wire ties, labels etc.

  • Maintain inventory of development sensors and test cell harnesses.

  • Obtain current drawings of test cell harnesses, engine harnesses, and electronic hardware schematics for troubleshooting and modification.

  • Perform repair and modification of electronic assemblies as required (soldering, crimping, drilling, cutting, etc).

  • Perform handling and tracking of all FOCUS shipping and receiving requirements including domestic and foreign invoices.

  • Obtain quotes and submit purchase orders to replenish general laboratory supplies as required for development support.

  • Update and install development and test software on computer systems.

  • Perform fault analysis and personal training on programming software at the various factories.

  • Monitor and log data from various testing opportunities
    o Electromagnetic interference testing, component & system level
    o Development test cell engine/vehicle
    o Factory engine/vehicle
    o Sensor testing, component & system level
    o Actuator testing, component & system level

  • Provide technical fault analysis to test cell operators and engineers for test cell and engine configuration/setup.

  • Troubleshoot electronic failures at remote test sites, vehicle and engine factories.

  • Collect data and perform fault analysis on non-conformance design or assembly failures for electronic control system components.

  • Program and update software in electronic engine control systems.

  • Create technical documents/forms to assist with tracking development part returns from test cells, factories, and the field.

  • Track development returns and assist engineering in analysis and submission of suspect parts to the appropriate suppliers.
     

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Experience troubleshooting electronics.

  • Experience with electronic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, ect).

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
     

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of Associate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Agriculture or Engineering Technology, or a related field of study.

EMBEDDED SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER

 POSITION SUMMARY:

The Embedded Software Test Engineer will contribute to a team responsible for verifying and validating software, for embedded control systems, by conducting tractor and simulator system level tests. Candidates for this position should possess proven technical ability, acute attention to detail, and an inquisitive disposition.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute software tests on tractors, simulators, or other test setups.

  • Document and maintain test procedures and results.

  • Write, de-bug, and maintain automated test scripts to test software.

  • Communicate software issues to the development team.
     

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Experience with embedded software systems, preferably in the agriculture or automotive industries.

  • Tractor system knowledge or a farming background.

  • Experience testing embedded software.

  • Experience with electronic test equipment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
     

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

  • At least 1 year of experience testing embedded software.

  • General knowledge of programming languages and software development tools, including version control systems is beneficial.

  • Tractor knowledge or a farm background is preferred.

SOFTWARE AND ELECTRONICS TEST TECHNICIAN

 POSITION SUMMARY:

The Software and Electronics Test Technician will contribute to a team designing and developing software for embedded control systems. Contribution will be through providing general electronics technician support and by executing, and documenting software tests. Candidates for this position should possess proven technical ability, acute attention to detail, and an inquisitive disposition.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execution and documentation of suitable test cases for software components at the source code, model, and hardware-in-the-loop levels.

  • Document and maintain test procedures and results.

  • Provide general electronics technician support and trouble shooting through use of basic electronic test equipment.

  • Construct special electrical / electronic test hardware including harnesses.

  • Evaluate returned electronic controllers for proper function.

  • Support experimental tractor builds and initial production startup.

  • Draw electrical / electronic schematics.

  • Manage work direction for outside resources.

  • Write, de-bug, and maintain automated test scripts to test software.

  • Maintain a test simulator by ensuring proper setup for test releases, troubleshooting electronics issues, reporting issues, and maintaining configuration files and user interfaces.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Training in Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or closely related field.

  • Knowledge of embedded software systems.

  • Experience with electronic test equipment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Experience with software testing.

  • Experience with Labview and TestStand is a plus.

  • Knowledge of C programming language and software development tools, including version control systems is beneficial.

The Electronics Technician will support a team responsible for ensuring tractors are functioning from a systems level. Contribution will be through providing general electronics technician support.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot electronic issues on tractors.

  • Program tractors and test sets with software updates.

  • Provide general production line support for electronic issues.

  • Troubleshoot microprocessor re-programming issues.

  • Support experimental tractor builds.

  • Build and modify electronic harnesses.
     

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Training in Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or closely related field.
