1974…Blackhawk Engineering was founded for
the purpose of Designing and Building Tooling, Die’s and
Special Machines for a number of different customers.

1985…Additional purchases of CNC lathes
and mills was made and focused on the machining of
service / short run production parts.

1988…Our first purchase of a large
horizontal machining center, for an agricultural
differential housing.
ü
1989… Became the first recognized
Certified Supplier to John Deere Waterloo Works for
drive train casting machining.
ü
1990…Blackhawk Engineering Production
Group and Blackhawk Engineering Systems Group split into
two separate identities and facilities, allowing for our
focus into production machining.

1995…Completion of 2nd building
expansion, focused on expanding our expertise in the
Horizontal Mill usage for six sided drive train type
machining. We became the world’s number one user of
Hitachi Seiki Horizontal Pallet Changers.

1996…The introduction of the Ford Quality
Operating System (QOS) used to drive and improve our
business practices.
ü
1999…Achieved ISO 9000 Registration.
ü
2009…Certified to ISO 9001:2008.
